We’ve had some editorial complaints at Stonefold along the lines of please post more pictures of Sally and show us the barn! How’s this for two birds with one stone? This evening Sally and I took a walk — to visit the goats (who tomorrow have a date with the roving butcher), to marvel at the barn, to smell the good farm smells. September’s been a busy month for us. We slipped out of state for eight or nine days, both to visit friends and family and windsurf (or trying to windsurf, in my case) in the warm waters off North Carolina. We left Vermont in the full swing of late summer, and came back to fall edging its way across the field. The barn continues to take shape on the hill. Saturday will mark our first annual (!) barn party. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather; as you can see, we don’t have a proper roof yet to put over our guests’ heads.
Ah. One of the many things I’ll miss while in my goat.caramel.cave - what is sure to be an amazing barn party. Look at that beautiful barn! It looks so elegant there, even its skeleton, on the top of the hill. I simply cant wait to walk in those fields with Colin & Katie & Sally & Magic & all the other Highlanders…Seeing farm dreams come alive. Really exciting.
